Augmentin 375MG is a film-coated tablet comprising potassium clavulanate equivalent to 125mg of clavulanic acid and amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 250 mg amoxicillin as the main ingredients. It is used for treating a variety of bacterial infections such as skin and soft tissue infections, middle ear infection, lungs & airways, throat infection (tonsillitis/pharyngitis), urinary tract infection, nose infection (sinusitis), pneumonia, and bronchitis.
Augmentin 375 mg is a combination medicine of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid. Amoxycillin, an antibiotic prevents the formation and division process of bacterial protective covering or cell wall. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, which reduces resistance and extends the anti-bacterial activity of Amoxycillin. Take Augmentin 375MG as a whole with food. Do not break or chew it. The effects of this medicine are generally observed within 1-2 hours after the use and last for about 6-8 hours after onset of action.
